Genki Sushi (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (“Genki Sushi Malaysia”) recognizes the importance of your privacy. This privacy policy statement “Privacy Statement”) explains how your information, including personal data as defined by the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (collectively, “Personal Information”) is collected, used and disclosed by Genki Sushi Malaysia through the Website (as defined below) and in our physical stores. Please read this Privacy Statement carefully. By accessing or utilizing services on www.genkisushi.com.my or its Facebook page or any of its social media platform sites or taking part in any of our online survey (collectively,  “Website”), it means that you have accepted all the terms of this Privacy Statement and have provided the Personal Information voluntarily. If you are unwilling to be bound by all or any of the following terms, please do not use or cease your access to the Website. If you continue to use the Website or you have subscribed to our contact/mailing list (or have not unsubscribed, where applicable), it indicates that you have read and understood this Privacy Statement and agree to how your Personal Information is and will be collected, used, transferred and/or disclosed as provided in this Privacy Statement. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, you authorise Genki Sushi Malaysia to transmit any Personal Information outside of Malaysia in the manner and for the purposes described in this Privacy Statement.

1. What Personal Information does Genki Sushi Malaysia collect?

Personal Information that may be collected by Genki Sushi Malaysia may include:

• Name, postal address, phone number, e-mail address, your Facebook ID and/or other IDs on social media platforms.
• Financial account information, such as credit card number and other payment information.

We may also collect information about you such as:

• If you apply and/or participate in our membership program – your salutation, name, gender, date of birth, member’s account username, member’s account password, email address, mobile phone number, contact preferences and other information in connection with the membership program (for example, the amount you spent at our restaurants, your rewards, your membership details etc).
• If you subscribe to our mailing list – your username, password, your city of birth, your birthday, gender, nationality, email address and mobile phone number.
• If you dine at our stores, purchase takeaways or otherwise – what you buy, where you buy, how frequently you buy.
• If you take a survey, make enquiries or interact with us in various other ways – demographics information, your comments, feedback, questions or suggestions, your contact details and information about subjects that may interest you or that may be the subject matter of your enquiry / interaction.

Our stores are monitored by closed circuit television cameras which record photographic and videographic images of persons in and around the stores.

Genki Sushi Malaysia may also collect (i) aggregated data or anonymized data that does not directly identify you or (ii) data about you that is publicly available.

We may combine information we collect about you with information we receive from third parties.

 

2. How does Genki Sushi Malaysia use Personal Information?

Genki Sushi Malaysia may use any and all of the Personal Information about you for the following purposes (and any other purposes related to such purposes):

• for verification of identity and record, matching your Personal Information with other information you provided to us via other means;
• for displaying on the relevant portal when you use the Website, the Internet and other channels in managing your Personal Information;
• for internal operations including, analysis and comparison with other customers’ information in order to gather statistical information to help us better serve you and develop products or services and market promotion programmes;

You agree that after you have provided your personal verifiable Personal Information, including your name, telephone number, email address and correspondence address to Genki Sushi Malaysia, you may from time to time receive telephone calls, text messages (including via SMS and/or WhatsApp), emails and direct mails containing direct marketing information on offers and promotions in relation to food and beverage and catering services provided by Genki Sushi Malaysia, its affiliated companies and business partners in joint promotions. In the event of joint promotion, the details of the joint promotion will be sent either by Genki Sushi Malaysia or its designated communications service provider but not by the joint promotion partner.

If you do not wish to receive any such direct marketing communications, whether or not you have consented to Genki Sushi Malaysia providing you such information, please inform us in writing as described in the “Contact Us” section below.
